Shannon asked for my recipe for sweet and sour chicken yesterday, but this was our first time trying it so I wanted to see how it tasted before telling you about it. I got the recipe from "The Basics and More Cookbook".
Sweet-sour chicken:
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 chopped green pepper
3/4 cup pineapple juice
3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 T. vinegar
2 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
15oz. can pineapple chunks, drained
3 lb. chicken , cut up
I cooked it in the slow cooker. I put the chicken, then onions then poured the sauce over it, then the pineapple and green peppers. Cook on low for 8 hrs.
*This tasted very good!! I will defiantly make it again, but next time I will use boneless chicken because it was a pain to mess with the bones. We served it over rice and it was very yummy!

Yum!!!!! Sounds yummy! I will have to try it!
I always use boneless breast for something like this. :)
Here is my sweet and sour chicken recipe. It's easy! Serve over rice! :D
1 pkg dry onion soup mix
1 jar apricot preserves
1 (8oz) bottle Russian salad dressing
Mix and pour over chicken.
This can be baked in the oven or cooked in the crock pot.
Hugs!
