A fit family and our menu.

Another weekend come and gone,, almost half way through Feb!!  It really is true that as you get older life just moves on faster.  And the weekends sure do fly by.  Through the week our days are pretty much the same,, get up kids go to school Ben is at work, I babysit until 5:30 every night which then we have dinner, clean up dinner, workout, get kids ready for bed, watch a little TV, wait for 3rd shift babysitting girl to come and then go to bed to get up and do it all over again.  The weekends are always a little different and as of lately working out is part of those also.  I am really happy that fitness has taken over our household.  I cant believe I'm saying this but I am loving being active.  I really cant  wait until the weather warms up some I we can get outside more often and take walks and I"m dieing to go hiking somewhere.  Tennessee and all those hills are really calling my name.  I bet we could tackle them a lot better now than we did a few years ago!

Jess and I right before doing The Shred.

We took a little sneak peak at level 3 of the Shred and since the mats were open Emma decided to do some of the stretches with Evil Jillian.
Saturday the sun was out and even though it wasn't really warm we took advantage of it and the whole family went for a walk. Gary wanted to ride his bike.  We went for 2 miles!  Our ears and cheeks were frozen but its all good.  I loved getting some fresh air. Emma was whining on the way home about being cold and tired but hopefully this summer when its not freezing she will be more into it.

I really wasn't this far behind everyone, my shoe was untied so I stopped to tie it and snapped a pic while I was back there.

Ive decided to start posting our menus again like I used to.  Keep in mind that lunches are always subject to change, just depends if we have leftovers or not and what the kids and I are in the mood for..I also don't always eat the same thing as the kids in the mornings and lunches,,if you want to see exactly what I eat find and add me at myfitnesspal.com  my user name is everydaymom.

I also always have a veggie or two at dinner but dont always right then down on the menu plan because we just have whatever one sounds good that day. :)   More or less nothing is written in stone,I just like to have a basic plan.  This little markerboard came with a calander set my mom got me for Christmas,, I love it for posting our menus on the fridge.

Menu Plan,,,,

I am so glad I started planing my menu's. Dinner time runs so much smoother and I really do believe I am spending less at the store. When I plan the menu for the week I am looking in my cupboards and freezer and I plan my meals around what I have. I also plan my shopping trip around the sale flyers and coupons that I have. So heres the menu for this week....

*taco salad

*stuffed peppers ( we never got around to making this last week)

*tuna noodle casserole(or this)

*chili, cornbread

*porkchops, fried taters, corn

*baked potatoes topped with chili, and cheese

* I am hoping to take the kids too the zoo next Saturday and go to Sams club, so since we will be in Ft. Wayne we will probably eat up there.

Menu plan

So here is this weeks menu. I think I'm going to try to not devote days to the meals. Just list a weeks worth of dinners. The reason for this is because some days we just don't want what I have planned anyways, so this way we wont be breaking my list:)

*BLT's, pasta salad, creamed cukes (this will be for Monday for sure, cause its soccer night and we need quick and easy)

*hamburger casserole

*roasted chicken, baked potatoes, green beans(I'm going to try out my frozen ones)

*chicken and rice casserole

*pizza

*leftover buffet

*eating at moms for b-day party

So there you have it. Be sure to check out orgjunkie.com for more great meal ideas!

Menu plan, Sept. 1, 2008

Last week we did well with our menu. One of the days, the one that we planned to have hot dogs and potato salad, worked out great because I had already made up the potato salad earlier in the day and had everything prepped and ready and about 20 min. before dinner my parents called and said they were coming for dinner. It felt nice to already have everything ready, all that had to be done was throw some extra hot dogs on the grill and we were all set. And my mom was impressed with the homemade potato salad. so here is the plan for this week:
Monday:B-biscuits and gravy D-smoked pork chops, baked potatoes, corn( we never did have this last week)
Tuesday-spaghetti & bread sticks
Wednesday-Roast, potatoes, carrots
Thursday-chili & cornbread
Friday-pizza & nachos with the leftover chili on them
Sat.-another family reunion ????
Sunday-B-bacon filled eggs , D-hamburger casserole

Menu plan Aug. 25

Wow, I cant' hardly believe its the end of August already!! Summer is coming to a close. Do you change the things you eat with the seasons? I know we have more hot soups and such in the winter time. Well here is this weeks menu, please understand that this is very likely to change depending upon my mood. We will most likely eat everything on here just maybe not the days that I had planned. The main reason for this is I know I have a plan for everyday of the week and I have that food on hand, so I don't have to worry about not having things to make supper for my family and not having to run and eat out!

Monday- spaghetti & bread sticks with salad

Tues- hot dogs, potato salad, creamed cukes

Wed-hamburger zucchini over rice
Thurs.-pork chops, pot., corn

Friday-kids eating at moms, Ben and I going out with my sister

Sat.-lunch, biscuits and gravy dinner-pizza

Sunday-ham steak, baked potatoes, green beans
