Poopy in the potty!!!

Even though I didn't want to I gave in and had Ben light the pilot light on the furnace last night,,, I don't want my babies to get to cold. I set it at 67 so I wouldn't kick on unless it got really cold in here,,, this morning when I woke it was right on the mark, so I think it kicked on. Its been cold here lately,, I'm not ready for the winter months just yet!! The one good think though is the kids get to wear different clothes! I get to see Emma in all her new things we got at Kid's Market, shes so cute! She looks like such a big girl in her cute little flare jeans and long sleeved shirts! Time is going way to fast. yesterday she was hiding behind the chair and I asked her what she was doing,,, then she said poop...potty, so I grabbed the potty chair and she actually went poop in it!! yay! She's been wanting to sit on the potty but normally she doesn't do anything. I'm not forcing the issue right now, she will do it in her own time when shes ready. This is more than likely my last baby and I don't want to force her to grow up to fast. I say let kids be kids!
My cold is still hanging on but I think I'm getting a little better, I'm gonna wait til all my antibiotics are gone b4 deciding if I need to go back to the Dr. or not. I've got 2 left. Emma sounded a little wheezy this morning so I did a breathing treatment on her hoping she wont get bad! She is acting fine though, her normal energetic self. I wish I had half of her energy!

Zoo trip

We went to the zoo on Saturday for Ben's company picnic. Accept for the fact of me still being sick, it was a great time. Emma was like a totally different child compared to our trip there in May. She was scared of everything then, and this time she really enjoyed herself!! Here she is brushing the goats. She enjoyed them until one tried to eat her shirt. :) Here she is in the Little Poof train. She loved that, she didn't want to leave, she got right in there with the other kids that she didn't know and had a great time!

In the kangaroo pouch

This was really cool. The sea lions came right up and said hello to the kids.

Jammin on the drums

It was a great day! Hopefully within the next couple weeks we can make it up to the apple orchard that we went to last year and pick some apples to make applesauce!

Thursday rambles

oh man! I am getting so tired of feeling so blah. I just need to get rid of this cold!! I'm trying to keep up with everything but its hard. Ben told me last night that he hopes I feel better cause we've been having to much frozen pizza. Just for the record, we've only had it twice in 2 weeks...Which I don't think is a big deal, but hes not used to that, I'm usually really good about cooking homemade meals. I've just felt so crappy lately that I don't have the energy,, I haven't even been that hungry. Speaking of hungry, Emma is eating me out of house and home! She is always hungry. I've been having a hard time coming up with a variety of nutritious snack for her, she gets tired of having the same thing all the time.

Our beef goes in tonight! So we should have it back within 2 weeks or so. I'm superbly excited about that! Hopefully the grocery bill will go down. I have come to realize that my idea of a grocery budget is so nuts its ridiculous. I tried to spend only 250 dollars this month and that includes diapers and all cleaning items and such,, the 250 is already gone!!! I need to just realize that we are a family of 5 and its gonna cost a little more to keep food on the table.

I did get some good news today, one of my childcare kids will be coming back with us, but on 3rd shift, so she will more or less just sleep here. It will def. be different but at least I'll have a little more cash for our weekly needs :)

Papaws house

We went to my dad's house the other weekend. All the kids love it over there cause of all the farm animals. Here is Emma feeding the roosters! And here she is caught with the cupcakes! She sneaked them off the counter, knocked the whole container down and was munching away on them.
We all just had to laugh! Some things are to cute to get mad at, luckily there were only a couple left so it didn't ruin to many!

Sick, chores, and kids market

I thought I had hid from the cold bug that everyone had around me, but I woke this morning with a scratchy throat and a heavy chest :( I feel drained.

Yesterday I made a new chore chart out. I listed out things that I thought the kids could help with and they have the option of choosing what they want to do. Each thing earns them 10cents but it will add up to much more if they chose to do things. Some things can be done daily, 2x a week, and some once a week. All chores have to be checked by me and if they arnt done right it doesn't get counted, my hope is that will help with having them not rush through and do things half way just to earn the money. They also have things that they are responsible for every day that they don't get paid for, like making their bed, doing homework, feeding dog. if they don't do these things then they lose 10cents. I'm hoping it works, I really need help around here and Gary especially needs to learn some self discipline and responsibility.

I am getting really excited about the upcoming kids market sale. I even had a crazy dream about it the other night. i showed up for the first volunteer sale and there was hardly anything there! Just a bunch of junky trash. The few things that I did find people had already taken the sale tags off. I was so sad and went and complained and cried to the sales people. I woke up so upset. lol Hopefully that's not how it will really work out.!

Smiles

Here is the one thing that can always make me smile not matter how rough or tough my day has been.
How could that possibly not just melt your heart? Please remember to take the time and enjoy these little blessings God has given us.. The dishes, the laundry,, they will always be there waiting for us, but these cute little beings that we have received grow up so fast, in the blink of an eye, so enjoy them while they still want to be enjoyed. I so often have to remind myself of this. Its not that often that you get to have a tea party with such a cute little person! :)

August Goals (UPDATED)

So here it is September 3rd, so I thought I would weigh-in on my August goals....

I am going to start setting monthly goals for myself. I've noticed I get much more accomplished when I have a list and plan of action for myself. Otherwise I tend to get quite sidetracked.

August Goals:

1. Read Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover" book. Done

2. Set up a plan of action on the first baby step for that book..1,000 emergency fund. Kinda done, but decided we need to concentrate on getting money for Bens vehicle that he desperately needs. So we made a plan for that. I have a budget set up for this Sept. and hes been working overtime so all excess goes into his car fund. As soon as he gets his vehicle then we will get the emergency fund set up....Lets just hope no emergency's arrive before then. :)

3. Workout at least 2x a week. Sad to say I didn't make this goal :( I can only go to the Y when Jess is here cause Emma wont stay in the babysitting room by herself, and Jess was gone the one week, then Ben has been taking my car A LOT, so I've been stuck at home... no excuses though...I'm gonna really work harder on this this month.

4. Start packing Bennie's lunch for him again. Doing better on this one but cant say it was 100% of the time.

Man, looking at this it doesn't seem I did to well. I felt like I accomplished a lot but this doesn't look good. Well, Its a new month so I'll be on here later and post my new goals.

Mowing

We had a fun night of yard work last night!

I was so proud of Ben because Emma kept getting right in front of him and he was so patient with her. Never once yelled, and he had a smile on his face the entire time he was mowing!

I was able to get a little video of it with my camera. (Sorry April I know you posted a video like this on facebook, I'm not trying to copy you, this was just to cute and I had to show the grandparents! ) :)
