Depressed

That's how I've been feeling lately. I don't know whats wrong with me but I need to get out of this funk. I've just been feeling so sad, but I don't have any specific reason to be. Nothings changed from the norm. I've been so tired and I only do things because I know I have to, my body's been achy. Maybe its the weather,,, I need some sunshine!! Emma has been terribly grumpy this past week,, I swear she always seems to be upset and throwing a fit about something. She has been pretty sick though so I'm sure that's why. Its not her fault.......I still love her:)

I think part of it is me being home all the time. I'm sure most stay at home/work at home moms feel the same but I get so lonely. You just can't have adult conversations with a 2 and 4 year old, then when the other adult comes home he is tired and has his own stresses so I can't burden him with mine. Although lately I don't really feel like talking to anyone for some reason. I had this realization the other day that Ben has sooo much stress in his life,,, he seems to hate his job, and he's the main money maker in the family so when times are tough like they have been he blames himself thinking that he doesn't make enough money(which is not true). He does the best job he can providing for our family and I appreciate it so much. That's why I'm trying to not complain about things so much to him. And I love being home with my kids. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Anyways, hopefully this will pass soon. I know that I have so much to be thankful for and I love my family dearly. I just want to wake up tomorrow and feel like my normal happy self again.

ThisWeeks Eats. ...

Here is what we'll be having to eat this week:

*hamburgers, homemade fries, carrots
*beef and broccoli stir fry with rice
*veggie soup with homemade bread
*venison steak, garlic potatoes, green beans
*fajitas
*Ribyees, baked potatoes, corn

The only things I had to buy at the store for these meals were, tomato juice for the veggie soup, tortillas, and sour cream! Of course I also had to buy milk, fresh fruit, and things for lunches. My husband likes to go around telling everyone that I don't go grocery shopping. This is not true.... .I guess the problem is we run out the food I buy to fast. I guess I'm still shopping with the mentality of of family of 4, but really we are a family of 5 plus I feed extra kids that I babysit. Emma eats a ton! You wouldn't think a 2 year old could eat that much but she is constantly wanting food. I would call her a grazer, eating little bits all throughout the day. I cant deny her the food,, she is a growing girl. Also Jess and Gary's appetites seem to be growing quite a bit too. An example is I bought a big thing of bananas last Thursday and by Friday night they were gone. I guess I need to start buying 2 things of bananas, and try and figure out how to
s-t-r-e-a-c-h my grocery budget even more :(

Birthday celebrations

Saturday we celebrated Emma turning two and Gary turning 9! We went to Chuck E Cheese and had a great time with family and friends. Thanks for all the presents, they kids loved everything! Gary invited 3 friends and they had tons of fun eating and playing games! Here is the birthday boy enjoying his pizza. Emma was really excited about the phone April got her!
Here she is riding one of the rides,, don't ask who the girl is beside her,, it was just a random person that jumped on for the ride. :)

Aunt Dawn and Emma,, she really likes the little guitar Dawn got for her, now she can rock out with Gary!

We were very lucky to get one of the big long tables! Here's some of the crew enjoying their pizza.

Emma trying to blow out her candle. We sang to each kid separately, I think its more special like that!

I had ordered a cake from Walmart and just had them make one side for Emma and one for Gary, Emma's was Tinkerbell, and Gary had Ice Age:Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

It really was fun. We are so lucky to have such great family and friends!

Declutter challenge

I read about this challenge...730 in 365 challenge. More or less she is challenging us to get rid of 730 items in our home in one year! Well I'm all about decluttering so I am hoping on board with this. I do think though that I am gonna go with 500 in 365, due to the fact that when we redid the kid's bedroom we got rid of so much stuff. I would easily say that between that and the after Christmas decluttering I did I'm sure we got rid of over 200 things. So 500 it is for me. This cant be actual trash,, its things you no longer want, need, or use. I will update once a month with my new total and hopefully some pictures too! If you would like to read more about the challenge in detail you can go here . Let me know if your gonna do this too, I think it will be fun!

Happy New Year!

It's Jan. 1 2010! Wow! Time to reflect back at the past year and make new goals for the new one. I love having this blog because I can look back and see what was going through my head at this time last year, Here are the goals I made last year and I'll update you on how I did:

So... as far as resolutions for 2009, ..............
*get down to pre baby weight ---ummmm..No, this didn't happen :(
*exercise at least 3x per week--I started off good with this then it tapered off throughout the year. :(
*stop yelling so much--I actually did this one, I really tried hard to think b4 I spoke and I even asked the kids how they thought I did. They said Ididnt totally stop yelling but I defiantly improved.
*pay off credit cards---yeah right! To many things came up and this didn't even get close to happening,,, but we did buy a house in our name and did pretty well with our money, so I think we did pretty well.

Ok., so I didn't do as well as I hoped but it's a new year and time to start over! In 2010 I have motto................Get thin in 2010!! ............... I don't actually think its possible for me to ever look "thin", but you get the point. I am going to get healthier this year, and so is Ben! We will start getting back to the YMCA and work out and really try to eat healthier.

I will continue my money goal, I don't know if its possible to get the cards paid off this year but we still need to get Ben a new vehicle. We will get that with our tax check and then I am going to start our 1,000 dollar emergency fund. After that extra money will go to paying off credit cards. We also need to start a fund for our Disney trip we will be taking next January. I had a idea to put all change into a jar every day and see how that adds up, all that money will be for our trip and about half way through the year I will see how much we have and start adding money to the fund from our pay checks. The goal is to not have to put money on credit cards for the trip.

I will continue trying to be the best wife and mother I can be, and try to nurture my marriage. All to often we get caught up in the kids lives and its easy to forget about our relationship as husband and wife. I don't want to end up two strangers sitting across the table from each other when the kids grow up and move out of the house.

That's a good start as far as new years resolutions go I think. I'm going to try and check in once a month and update on how were doing. What are your goals for the new year?
